 MEET OUR 2019 SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENTS  
 

 

Jinyu Chen recently started her Master’s in real estate at Baruch College. Currently, she is looking for a real estate internship to better prepare herself to enter the industry. She won the 2019 NAIOP NJ Commercial Real Estate Intercollegiate Case Competition, who selected from real estate department at Baruch College to represent Baruch for this competition. She is also an active member at MBA of NY and she is looking forward to growing herself professionally with this organization. She is always excited to gain new knowledge, develop new skills and work with others. Prior to her MS in real estate, Jinyu was majoring in accounting with her undergraduate degrees at Baruch College. She also served as Treasurer and Vice President for Ascend Baruch Chapter.

Harvey has a versatile background in a senior management role at Deutsche Bank focusing in the areas of Financial Planning & Analysis, P&L management, Strategic Planning, Budgeting and Forecasting. He enjoys investing in the talent of his team members, learning new skills as well as being passionate about moving the enterprise forward.  Most recently, his real estate career has led him on the successful acquisition of the $163mm prized property Hotel Indigo Lower East Side, as well as the finance lead for a 120 unit mixed use opportunity zone development site in Flushing, Queens.  On his free time, he enjoys staying active in Crossfit, triathlons and finding new adventures to explore with his wife and dog.

Austin is attending the NYU Schack Institute of Real Estate pursuing a Master’s degree in Real Estate Development with a concentration in Global Real Estate. Austin will graduate NYU in May 2020, and he earned his Bachelor of Arts from Amherst College in 2018.

Since starting at NYU Schack, Austin has been involved with the MBA of NY’s Mentor 360 Program, the Urban Land Institute, and Habitat for Humanity New York City.

Ezequiel Urena is a rising senior in the Zicklin school of business at Baruch college pursuing a BBA in real estate and minoring in law and policy. Ezequiel started to work in the real estate industry at 18 years old and is now currently working as a real estate salesperson in NYC with aspirations to work in the development and finance sector. 

 

 
  

While enrolled in the School of Business at Cornell University, Emile has focused his studies on real estate finance and investments. Being exposed to Real Estate Investment Trusts (REITs), Equity and Debt transactions, structured financial products (CMBS, CLOs, and B-piece), and Hospitality Real Estate Finance. He served as the co-president of the Associate Real Estate Council (AREC), vice-president of the Alternative, Private, and Hedged Assets Club (ALPHA), and member of the Latin American Business Association (LABA), in 2019 - and, is an Emerging Markets Institute Fellow.

Emile Schachter interned in the winter of 2018 at The Community Preservation Corporation "CPC" ($10.5B+ in transactions volume) in their debt/loan originations team, and in the summer of 2019 interned at Bridge Investment Group "Bridge" ($20B+ in AUM) in their Commercial Office Acquisitions and Asset Management Team. 

 

Interesting Fact: I have a fraternal twin brother, and I have lived in five different countries (USA, Brazil, Dominican Republic, Canada, and Mexico).
